radagast is a place jack and i had spent plenty of late nights in drinking huge beers and sharing laughs. we love the boisterous atmosphere and our friends always appreciated the fact that we could generally find enough space to accommodate a decent sized group of us. the past five years we’ve been in the neighborhood we had never had brunch here though. that is, until a few weekends ago. friends of ours had just moved to NYC and came to the ‘burg so we could catch up for brunch. as you can imagine, with a 7 month old, my first search criteria is that the place has to be stroller friendly. secondly, knowing that paul and tanya are as much foodies as myself and jack are, the menu had to be solid. and since it was sunday at noon, we had to be able to get in without waiting an hour. radagast was perfect : )
we sat in the beer hall and got ourselves started with a few sausages from the grill. the sausages were what you’d expect but the mustards and dipping sauces were what we really loved. that and the deliciously refreshing beer cocktails we had! our entrees came out relatively quickly and i was pleasantly surprised by the rich and flavorful quiche i had along with the eggs over easy and sweet potato pancakes jack ordered. i didn’t get to sneak a bite of the lemon ricotta pancakes but they looked excellent.
audrey woke up just as we were wrapping up our meal and had a great time taking in the sights and sounds when I pulled her out of the stroller.
final note, radagast is a phenomenal beer garden and don’t count out the restaurant!
