i caught up with girlfriends at a really cute spot last night. miusa, known for organic, locally sourced meals and drinks in a modern and comfortable atmosphere was a great spot to share some small plates and catch up on the neighborhood gossip. the seating is community style; there are some 2 tops but the bulk of the space is taken up by a seated height and another standing height long communal table. we opted to sit a little closer to the kitchen and were all pleasantly surprised at how many options there were on the menu once we sat down. we decided to do a few of the specials and just share everything. we ordered a lobster roll, the burrata and seared scallops wrapped in bacon. the scallops were by far my favorite. they weren’t too big and had been just cooked through and had perfect texture. i’m a bit of a purist when it comes to lobster rolls so i could have passed on this one but the burrata presentation made up for what the lobster roll lacked. delicious, fresh cheese with piles of prosciutto is always a hit! we couldn’t pass up the creamed spinach with fried biscuits (be SURE to order something that has friend biscuits, they’re tiny and delicious!) and we did the chocolate mouse for dessert. i loved the mousse, it had a thin, crisp frozen chocolate shell and was paired with vanilla ice cream and chocolate shavings. it was velvety but definitely not too rich.
this is a great spot to catch up with friends or have a casual date. the atmosphere is buzzy and the decor is warm and friendly~
